You want them to know you freaking exist just like everyone on Instagram live and Facebook right now knows I exist. You know me you know my story you know about me, you know my voice, that’s the first thing you need your audience to do... To know you!
You need them to like you, okay? This is hard, especially if you're like me where people either fucking love you or they're like, oh my God, that bitch over there. So you need them to like you. And in order for people to like you, they need to like you for who you are, right? They have to like you for who you are, how you show up, not as what you think your audience wants you to be, not as, um, someone you kind of want to be. The point of this is that you have to be yourself because if you're not yourself, you're not giving a reason for people to like you for who you are, right?
They need to resonate with you. They need to have an affinity towards you.
The hardest part will be how to go from, "Oh my God, I love your content. Oh my God, you are my goals. Oh, may guide you. Kill it. And Oh my God, like that's going to take you from all my God. You inspire me to Holy Shit. Like just please take my fucking money. Okay. Like please take it. I don't want anymore. I want to give it to you because you can help me."
And that is trust! They need to know you. They need to like you and you need to freaking trust you. Okay? And this is the biggest thing that a lot of people get wrong. It's, hmm, they like me, they know me, they must trust me already. But that's not true, right? You had to have something built up called social proof.
You need to know that they are going to trust you fully by spending dollars on you, right?
And how do you get your audience to trust you? How do you get them to fork over their credit cards and be like, here, just take it? I don't want it anymore. Just take my money. Please, please, please. Okay. How do, how do you got on to do that by offering highly valuable content and leveraging your social proof?
And what is social proof? It is evidence that your valuable content actually works.
I will go on Instagram stories and I will directly talk to that person. I am talking to one person. Be like, Hey you, I know you've probably checked out my sales page a million times for the Instagram engagement treasure chest. I know you probably checked out my sales page and you probably talked yourself out of it every single time. This is your invitation to go follow through and level the fuck up. Go ahead and apply for my program. You know that you need it. So stop talking yourself out of it. This is my direct invitation to you to go ahead and apply.
Let's start talking about DMing your ideal clients on Instagram. DMing 20 to 30 people a week is really going to skyrocket the movement and your Business.
So what do you say? DM them and say, "What type of content would you like to see from me in the future?"
This builds trust with your audience that was not there before. If we all took the time to do that market research and to establish those connections and friendships this platform, then your life would be so much easier and you would have content that will reach your ideal client.
I'll screenshot my sales page for the engagement treasure chest, I'll put a pole like, Hey, do you want this? Like is this something that you're interested in? And everyone who votes yes, that is now your opportunity to go and talk to them. Right? They have opened the door just a crack. They just crack the door open and now that is your opportunity to go talk to them.
People answered my poll and said yes. Now, what do I do?
This is what you do. You are going to go ahead and say this! Let's call this person Stephanie. Okay. So, Hey Stephanie, I saw that you voted on my poll about the Guava Boss Mastermind. I just checked out your profile. I think you'd be an amazing fit. Let me know if you have any questions, homegirl and I could totally answer them. I want this to be an empowering decision for you. That is my line. It's not a sales tactic. It's just something I truly believe and it's in my heart. But that line, I want this to be an empowering decision for you always makes people feel very safe.
It makes people feel like, damn, like she really has my best interest at heart and I really am interested in her program. I think I'm going to go ahead and apply. That's it. That's all you have to do.
So how can you establish trust and knowing and liking more like effectively when you're a newbie and you don't have a big following at all?
Number one follow back people who are watching your stories, right? I just did that today. I followed like, um, like a hundred people who just like consistently watch my stories and like, I just want to grow to the guava tribe and I want to know you guys because you guys obviously follow me and you consume a lot of my content. So I'm like, I might as well like get to know you guys a little bit better.
Follow back people who watch your stories and engage with them, you can just go at, you don't have to go in every single time to someone dms to just pitch. Simply saying something like, Hey, Sydney, um, I see that you've been watching my stories. Like, thank you so much. Um, that really means a lot to me. What type of content would you like to see from me in the future? Right. And that's all you got to say.
What is a tip on how to make an instant connection in DM's?
Ideal clients on Instagram is number one, say their name. Okay. Go on their profile and don't just say, hey girl. Hey friend. Hey Babe. Say their fucking name go, take the initiative and say, Hey Kat. Hey Karen. Hey Stephanie, Hey Alaina. Um, I I saw your profile, checked it out. I think we'd be a great fit. Let me know if you have any questions. Um, the program is starting up next week or if you want to add some scarcity and say there are a few spots left, who would love to see your name on the roster?
Things like that you can say. Um, but make sure to say their name. You can either send a video or a voice message. Videos I think are the best way to go. It is more time-consuming. Um, but you know, as long if it makes a sale, like isn't it worth it?
Should I give them my prices in the DM?
NO! Never give your prices in the DM because potential client get sticker shock. Instead set up a call with them and talk about everything you can give to them before telling them the price!
Isabella, no one watches my stories. Um, you're coming from Instagram privilege. Like I know I get like three views.
